The vena cava is a large |vein| that runs along the right side of the body. It is divided into two portions, the |superior vena cava| and the |inferior vena cava|. The |superior vena cava| is the second largest |vein| in the body. It returns the ~blood~ from the head, arms and upper body to the right atrium of the |heart|. The |inferior vena cava|, which is the largest |vein| in the body, returns ~blood~ from the lower body and legs.
